The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), Indonesia, continues to strengthen its international network through a series of strategic partnership activities in Malaysia. On Thursday, April 30, 2026, FKIP UNTAN leaders and academic representatives held an official meeting with representatives of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) in the Main Meeting Room of the Faculty of Human Sciences (FDM), UPSI campus, Malaysia. The meeting served as an important momentum for developing sustainable academic collaboration to improve education, research, and community service at the regional ASEAN level.

The discussions focused on potential cooperation in several areas, including student and staff exchange, cross-border research collaboration, joint scholarly publications, and International Community Service initiatives. As higher education institutions with strong focuses on education and the humanities, FKIP UNTAN and FDM UPSI agreed on the importance of integrating disciplinary perspectives—including sociology and education—to address social challenges and the needs of 21st-century education.

Through a warm and productive discussion, both parties expressed their commitment to immediately follow up the agreed points through a concrete Implementation Arrangement. This academic diplomacy not only reinforces FKIP UNTAN's position as an adaptive and globally oriented educational institution, but is also expected to generate tangible benefits for the capacity development of the academic community and strengthen bilateral Indonesia–Malaysia relations in higher education.
