The Multicultural and Border Education Research Unit of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), Pontianak, Indonesia, successfully carried out a Community Service (PKM) and outreach program at SMK Tebedu, Serian, Sarawak, Malaysia, on January 7, 2025. The official visit was organized as a strategic step to initiate and strengthen academic and educational collaboration in the cross-border region between Indonesia and Malaysia.

The FKIP UNTAN team delivered a series of educational programs focused on strengthening multicultural education values and understanding the dynamics of border regions from social and educational perspectives. The research unit was warmly welcomed by the management, teachers, and students of SMK Tebedu. The interactive discussions and outreach activities provided a valuable space for exchanging insights into the challenges and potential development of education for young people living in border regions.

The visit and PKM program were not merely symbols of harmonious relations between educational institutions in the borderland, but also reaffirmed FKIP UNTAN's commitment to implementing research and community service rooted in local wisdom and meeting international standards. Through this collaboration, sustainable synergy is expected to develop through cultural exchange programs, multicultural curriculum development, and joint research to support improvements in the quality of education in the Indonesia–Malaysia border region.
