PONTIANAK - The Doctoral Education Program of Universitas Tanjungpura (Untan), in collaboration with the Sociology Education Study Program, successfully carried out an international Field Study (KKL) and Community Service (PKM) program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The five-day cross-border academic program took place from August 1 to 5, 2026.

The activity represented a strategic step toward expanding international collaboration networks and strengthening academic expertise. The involvement of the Sociology Education Study Program made an important contribution, particularly by enriching sociological analysis of educational issues, social dynamics, and cultural challenges faced by Indonesian communities abroad.

During the five-day program in Kuala Lumpur, lecturers and students actively participated in various academic activities. These included study visits, scholarly discussions with partner educational institutions in Malaysia, and community service initiatives using a social-educational approach designed to provide concrete solutions for local communities.

The successful implementation of this international Field Study and Community Service program further demonstrates the commitment of the Doctoral Education Program and Sociology Education Study Program at Untan to producing research and community service with a global reach. The outcomes are expected to encourage sustainable cooperation in educational sociology research, joint publications, and stronger participation of academics in the international arena.
